VOTING INFORMATION
Nov 5, 2024 Presidential Election
HOW CAN I REGISTER TO VOTE?
If you're at college and away from home, you have a decision to make on where to register. It's important to understand the timelines above to make sure your vote counts.
Register at School or Home?
You have a right to register to vote at the address you consider the place where you live, whether that is your family's home or the place where you attend school. You should update your registration anytime you change where you call home. You may only be registered and vote in one location.
For example, let’s say you are a St. Mary’s student who lives in San Antonio during the school year and with your family in Laredo during the breaks.
- If you register to vote in Bexar County, you can vote at any Voting Center in San Antonio.
- If you register to vote in Laredo, you will either need to travel to Laredo to vote or you can apply to vote by mail. Again, understanding the voting timelines is important so you don’t miss out on your vote.
You can fill out this online form to register. You must print it, sign, and return it to your county’s Election office. REGISTER TO VOTE
What Type of ID Do I Need to Register?
None, however, Texas’s voter registration form asks for your Texas driver’s license or ID number, or the last four digits of your Social Security number. Be sure to provide one of these numbers if you have it. It will help election workers find you quicker in the database when you vote at the polls.
